X-Press Legal Services has launched a new online payment system to facilitate direct payment for search fees by consumers – speeding up the house buying process, reducing risk and ensuring compliance with HMRC.
Conveyancers will benefit from this new X-Press Pay service by reducing the need to add VAT to disbursements on invoices – allowing real-time transactions during the conveyancing process. X-Press Pay is fully GDPR compliant and provides a VAT receipt for firms’ records.
Lynne Lister, Managing Director at X-Press Legal Services says “The recent Brabners v HMRC case has created a pressing need for solicitors to address the issue of adding VAT to disbursements when invoicing clients.
“Using Stripe* technology we now give law firms the option for their clients to ‘pay direct’ for searches with a debit or credit card through our online ordering platform, ICOS. As with all X-Press technology this system is incredibly easy and secure to use.”
X-Press Legal Services’ network of 26 offices across England and Wales is trusted by more than 500 legal practices and is one of the UK’s top 10 search companies. X-Press Legal Services’ regional offices are run by people who are experts in reporting and have an in-depth knowledge of their local area.
